WORK MATCH – STRAMAGROUP X JULIA

Team Leader Mechatronics in the field of automation technology

Personal insights into the daily work and role behind our Team Leader Mechatronics in the field of automation technology.

How long have you been part of STRAMAGROUP?

“I’ve been part of STRAMAGROUP since October 2016. I started with my apprenticeship as an electronics technician and have stayed with the company ever since. Over the years, I’ve been able to develop further and today I’m a Team Leader in the mechatronics area.

I actually got into this through friends. Many people around me started apprenticeships in this field, so I did an internship at Strama-MPS – and then went straight into my apprenticeship.”

What does your typical working day look like?

“My workday strongly depends on the project phase. At the beginning, the focus is on planning and coordination – for example material planning, ordering, and working closely with design and software teams.

As the project progresses, we move into implementation: laying cables, assembling components, connecting control cabinets, and later commissioning together with the software team.

Towards the end of the project, we dismantle the system, prepare it for transport, and reassemble and recommission it at the customer’s site. At the same time, I’m responsible for resource planning and assigning tasks within the team.”

What makes your job particularly exciting?

“The mix of technology, responsibility, and variety. No project is the same, and you’re involved from start to finish.

I also work with many different departments – from design to software to project management. And of course, the international collaboration makes the job even more interesting.”

Is there a project that has particularly stuck in your memory?

“A project in Canada really stands out to me – mainly because of the location and the team. We were close to Niagara Falls and had a great team on site.

You’re immediately welcomed and fully integrated, even though you’re coming from another company. That combination of project work, team spirit, and new impressions made it a really special experience.”

“Always add an extra meter.”

“When cutting cables, it’s better to leave a bit of extra length – just to be safe. Most of the time you don’t even need it!”

Why is STRAMAGROUP the perfect fit for you?

“I’ve been here since my apprenticeship and have grown continuously. You become part of the team and take on more and more responsibility over time.

For me, it feels like I’ve grown up here – both professionally and personally.”
