The surgical face masks of the Strama Group, which are produced in Straubing, are used for their first time in a clinic at the Mallersdorf Clinic. On Monday afternoon Denis Köhler - Sales MedTech at Strama-MPS handed over a sample package of 1000 pieces to the clinic administration manager Bernhard Fürst.

For a long time, the Mallersdorf Clinic has already been corresponding with the company Strama-MPS in its efforts to ensure long-term safe supply routes with medical masks of all kinds. After the production and certification, which has been started up in record speed, nothing prevents the first clinical use of surgical masks "made in Straubing". Thanks to their multiple layers and antibacterial effect, the green face masks are specially designed and certified for use during operations. Flexible ear loops, as known from conventional medical mouth-nose protection, ensure comfort. Denis Köhler reports that only German suppliers were brought on board for the production and yet the price could be kept affordable.

"Short and secure supply routes should be worth quite a bit, especially in times of crisis," says administration manager Fürst. The fact that regional mask production and delivery is also environmentally friendly is explained by the fact that there are no shipping routes. "We have always needed mouth-nose masks at the Mallersdorf Clinic, especially during the flu season," says Bernhard Fürst. "What is new, however, is the permanently high demand in corona times. He therefore expects a whole range of 36000 pieces as a realistic quantity for the first official order, which is to be placed after successful testing in the operating room.
