Strama-MPS, the mechanical engineering company located in Straubing since 1946, has bought the production area of HARMAN Holding GmbH & Co. KG in Straubing. The purchase contract was notarized on 15.10.2020.
The approx. 45,000 m² site includes production and office space totalling around 23,000 m². The location of the new site is ideally situated between the two Strama-MPS plants in Ittlinger and Banater Street. The production area of the Straubing-based special purpose machine builder increases by a good third.
Strama-MPS has grown continuously in the last years. With the new building of the "Danube Plant" in 2014 the management saw the company well prepared for the planned further growth. But soon rental buildings for large orders, especially in the field of e-mobility, were necessary. With the start of mask production in the 2nd quarter of 2020, the need for space increased once again.
The complete takeover of the site is planned by the end of 2020. Until then, parts of the site will already be used under a rental agreement. Mask production is currently running at full speed in the new building with five machines. The production of special machines for the electronics industry of the subsidiary F & K DELVOTEC Bondtechnik GmbH will also be relocated to the new premises soon, providing a perfect assembly environment. The order situation is good and Strama-MPS is now prepared for further growth.
