Last week, around 120 children from the 5th and 6th grades of neighbouring schools spent two days getting a taste of real professional football.
Under SRS Academy director Martin Dragan, who has been one of the Straubing Spiders' most committed players for more than 30 years, eight professional Spiders introduced the children to the world of football.
Offensive and defensive drills were taught and practised on two mornings - the sessions with CB Cantwell, Head Coach of the 1st team, were a particular highlight!
The "Future Spiders" project prioritises fun and pursues two goals: To get children and young people interested in the up-and-coming sport and to become a focal point for young players beyond the regional borders.
We are proud to act as the patron of the SRS Academy and believe that this partnership offers a sustainable framework for promoting sport among children and young people on the one hand and, on the other, demonstrates the opportunities to start their professional training in our company.
We look forward to the next ACADEMY events! GO SPIDERS
