What does the job profile of an industrial clerk look like?
Antonia, a student at the Ursuline Realschule Straubing, explored this for a week in our Strama-MPS during the career orientation module. She has summarized what she experienced during her cross-departmental internship week below:
Day 1:
On my first day of internship, I was warmly welcomed by colleagues from StramACADEMY. During a tour of the company, they presented the company to me and explained to me how the internship would work.
Afterwards, I was able to look over my shoulder during interesting activities and prepare tasks such as documents and presentations for training purposes myself.
Day 2:
On my second day I moved to the purchasing department. There I processed order confirmations, checked data on orders (especially delivery dates, prices) and created an overview document with customs numbers and countries of origin.
Day 3 - 5:
From Wednesday to Friday I not only moved to different departments, but also to the Donau plant.
I was able to gather many different impressions from work preparation to project management and sales. Checking delivery notes, processing invoices using SAP and creating orders were among the tasks that I was allowed to do myself.
My conclusion: an informative and, above all, varied week! My contacts, who were always friendly and helpful, gave me interesting insights into their activities and the company's commercial organization. I particularly enjoyed using the PC and using various software programs.
